New Genes takes legal action against malicious YouTuber… Request disclosure of personal information to U.S. court

Girl group New Jeans pulled out a sword at a YouTuber who had been slandering them.

Recently, the agency Adore requested a U.S. court to “order Google, which operates YouTube, to disclose the identity of the YouTuber who created and distributed malicious posts.”

Previously, Adore filed a complaint against the YouTuber in question to the police, but the investigation into the case was not conducted because the identity of the YouTuber was not identified.

The New York Times reported this and said that if the court accepts New Genes' request, they will be able to sue the YouTuber for defamation in Korea.

The New York Times also mentioned the case of Ive's Jang Won-young, who is in a legal battle with a YouTuber who spread malicious rumors, and added, “K-pop stars have been exposed to cyberbullying for a long time.”
