Producer Choi Bo-pil of ‘Whenever I Have the Opportunity’ predicted Yoo Jae-seok’s new charm.
At a press conference for SBS's new entertainment program 'Whenever I Get a Chance' held at a cafe in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on the 22nd, PD Choi Bo-pil said about Yoo Jae-seok accepting the MC position for 'Whenever I Have a Time', saying, “He is definitely not someone who starts a new program based on friendship alone. In fact, He explained, “There have been numerous proposals that haven’t come to fruition, and I think I was attracted to the ‘Whenever I Have the Time’ project with writer Chae Jin-ah and thought I could do well in it.”
Producer Choi then added, “While working on 'Running Man,' I know his strengths well, and he also knows my strengths and weaknesses well. In that respect, I think he decided to trust us a little more and try to work together.”
'Whenever I Get a Chance' is a 'niche strategy' variety show that presents good luck during the brief gaps in daily life, with Yoo Jae-seok and actor Yoo Yeon-seok serving as 2 MCs. The two have previously met on 'Running Man' and 'You Are the Culprit', but 'Whenever I Have the Opportunity' is their first time acting as 2 MCs, raising expectations. In addition, PD Choi Bo-pil of 'Running Man' and writer Chae Jin-ah of 'Siren: Island of Fire' work together to heighten expectations.
Producer Choi foreshadowed Yoo Jae-seok's new charm that can be seen in 'Whenever I Have a Chance.' PD Choi said, “Because the relationship in 'Running Man' has been around for a long time, it is not easy to change in the larger framework. It is true that it is a fixed framework to see a new side of him in the short term in each episode. But this is a new program.” Expectations were expressed for Yoo Jae-seok's new appearance in entertainment.
In particular, he was confident that 2MC Yoo Jae-seok and Yoo Yeon-seok would work well together. Producer Choi said, “It is a new experience for Yoo Jae-seok to host the show alone with Yoo Yeon-seok. We saw that the positioning of the two people changed in each episode even though we did not intend it.” He added, “Yoo Jae-seok is a person who responds flexibly as the program progresses. “I felt that again, and I think that part will be a highlight, and sometimes I’ll be the one to direct it, and this dynamic will be reflected well,” he said.
PD Choi also said, “I think many people will like the chemistry between the two MCs and the way they proceed.
