Director Jang Jae-hyeon of 'Breakfast', his next film will be based on 'Vampire'… “Ready within 4 years”

Director Jang Jae-hyun, who achieved the 10 million box office hit for the first time in the occult genre with the movie 'Bamyo', revealed his plans for his next film.

In a recent interview with British media outlet Screen Daily, director Jang Jae-hyeon said, “We are developing an original story inspired by the novel 'Dracula' (1897) written by Bram Stoker,” and introduced it as “a vampire movie set in the Russian Orthodox Church.”

He added, “I plan to write the script for about two years, and preparation and filming will likely take about four years.”

Due to the popularity of 'Pamyo', he stated that he has no intention of making a sequel. He said, “If I make a sequel, I will make a lot of money, but I don't think I will evolve as a director. I want to continue making new things.”

Director Jae-Hyeon Jang's third feature film, 'Breakfast', was released in Korea on February 22nd and has attracted 11.86 million viewers nationwide to date. It attracted the largest number of viewers among the films released this year, and became the most successful work in director Jang Jae-hyun's filmography.

This work ranked first in the box office not only in Korea but also in several Asian countries, including Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, setting a new record for the box office success of Korean films.
